Lark wins Communications Campaign of the Year for Wellbeing of Women

And the winner is… us! Our “Just a Period” campaign for Wellbeing of Women is named Communications Campaign of the Year at the 2024 Third Sector Awards.

The category recognises charities or agencies for a highly successful, innovative or inspiring communications campaign. We were up against some serious competition, including Oxfam, MND Association and Crohn’s & Colitis UK.

Director Paul, consultant editor Roz and producer Sarah represented the Larks at the event, and were stunned to accept the award.

We were also shortlisted for Best Medium Charity Film, won by Leukaemia UK.

“Just a Period” is our bold awareness campaign for Wellbeing of Women, the UK’s only charity funding research into women’s gynaecological health. They wanted to help educate women and girls, and empower them to get the right support for severe period pain and/or heavy bleeding.

The campaign has been covered by The Guardian, The Independent, The Times, The Evening Standard, Women’s Health, Sky News and ITV’s This Morning.

“Just a Period” was also mentioned during a parliamentary Women and Equalities Committee hearing into the challenges women face getting diagnosis and treatment for gynaecological conditions.

“Lark were a pleasure to work with. “Just a Period” has achieved widespread coverage, driving traffic to the educational resources on our website and, of course, directly helping women and girls.”

Beth Granter, digital consultant, Wellbeing of Women

This is the second industry award for “Just a Period”, following our fantastic win at the Smiley Charity Film Awards.

So, in true Oscars-style, we’d like to thank the Third Sector judges; Gozde, Beth, Rebecca and Janet at Wellbeing of Women for your collaboration and support; Meghna and the film crew for creating such a safe and open set, and for beautifully weaving these women’s stories together; our brilliant cast – Beth, Dawn, Esther and Tanya – for sharing your pain so candidly and passionately.
