Tideway is building a 25km tunnel under the River Thames to intercept and clean up the tonnes of sewage spilled every year. The new ‘super sewer’ will help create a healthier London, but how could they get that message across to communities in the capital in an engaging way?
The Tideway Project first approached Lark to work with them on their social impact report. This would highlight the positive impact the tunnel had not just on reducing river pollution but on the wider environment and local people too.
This could be helping Londoners to reconnect with the Thames in different ways, supporting STEM projects in local schools, or creating apprenticeships to give young people life-changing on-the-job training.
“Thank you for your great design skills and patience as we completed this work. We’re very proud of the report; I hope you are too! It’s been great working with Lark on all our reports – you’ve been invaluable in helping us to evolve our reporting style.”
Samantha Freelove, legacy and sustainability manager
After the social impact report was released, Tideway asked us to help transform their annual sustainability report. With the 2025 finishing date on the horizon, many of their goals – for example, around emissions and employment – were already complete.
Our designers created new concepts for the hero infographic and produced new illustrations and icons to bring all these impressive stats to life.
We then worked with Samantha and the Tideway team on their 2024 sustainability report and look forward to revealing the final impact of the 10-year project when it officially launches in the next few months.
