Together, RSPB, the National Trust and WWF are helping grassroots organisations across the UK make their communities greener. And such a brilliant initiative calls for brilliant branding.
Lark was first briefed to produce a warm, inspiring new visual identity that celebrates and reflects the people who are coming together from across these communities. We then moved onto producing a series of stories.
We started by listening and learning.
We began with three concept approaches. Each played with different approaches to typeface, illustration and graphic devices, and all followed the same core colour palette as People’s Plan for Nature.
With a clear winner chosen, we tweaked elements following feedback from the various stakeholders across the partners and organisations.
Next, content creation.
Supported by the Co-op and National Lottery Community Fund, Nature Neighbourhoods follows in the footsteps of the People’s Plan for Nature: a vision to protect and renew nature in the UK.
So while our design team had lots of creative freedom to push the boundaries, the Nature Neighbourhoods’ branding also needed to feel related to this original vision initiative.
We also had to keep our volunteer groups and future content creators in mind, so accessibility and ease were key.
Following sign-off, we moved onto snappy brand guidelines and clean Canva templates for the charity partners and 18 community organisations to follow.
